Laboratory Support Facilities

Excellent sample preparation and materials characterization facilities (x-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, metallurgical measurement capabilities, etc.) exist in the Institute.

Extensive support facilities are also available within Washington State University.  These consist of an electron microscope center (scanning-transmission electron microscope with energy dispersive microanalyzer and image analysis capabilities), an electronics shop, and an instrument shop, all through the College of Arts and Sciences.
